Association of Cognitive Learning Style with Attitude towards Science

چکیده

Scientific literacy has become an indispensable modern skill set. For a long time, cognitive psychologists and educators have been focused on the understanding of individual differences its influence teaching motivation to learn science. This research was executed find association Field Dependent- Independent learning styles attitude towards Quantitative approach used in this survey method it. A sample 478 undergraduate science students selected through stratified random sampling from three strata: BS Physics, Mathematics Biosciences programs. The consisted 158 male 320 female students. hypotheses were tested using chi-square , t-test coefficient correlation at 95% significance level. data collected standardized test named as “SHAPES” identify style measured self-developed tool. findings revealed that significantly possess greater than Dependent Significant relationship found between Dependent-Field style. It is recommended curriculum developers focus student’s difference so they can according their respective styles. In way, may also better related support improved academic achievement.
